Promoting self-directed learning is the point of my blog Intrinsic Lifestyle. I interpret the skills people acquire from being an autodidact by making independent documentaries or writing blog posts about them.
Why? Well here are:
5 Reasons to Justify Self-Directed Learning
When a person is engaged in a subject, learning about it is easier for them.
Realize through examples & contexts there are many different learning styles.
People are more willing to go outside of their ‘learning style’ when they care about their subject.
People who embark on self-directed learning end up contributing to society in a meaningful way.
People who teach themselves how to do something feel good about their accomplishment, competent–and that’s empowering to witness. They also become experts in their subject; and people are fascinated by experts.
After my last post, I noticed friends’ and family’s photos on Facebook. I left a few comments asking for permission to do a blog post about their self-directed interest. A few people contacted me. I’ll be sharing posts I’ve written about them.
Given all that explanation, I’m pleased to share my first Facebook friend’s hobby she does with zeal: Christina Spiegel’s Comic-a-Day.
