Artistic Milestone nominated me for “The Versatile Blogger Award.” I’m flattered! Thank you Abigail Lu, Abby. I have sincerely appreciated your enthusiastic comments. As an aside, Abby and her sweetheart, Charles, have an adorable daughter, a little fish who loves to swim as much as I do. Abby takes excellent photos and writes about cooking and her local culture.

Intrinsic is a new WordPress blog that features videos I produce. I purchased a domain to add a professional air to my interest of promoting self-directed learning. I’ve been blogging for four years at West Vista Urban Farm School at Blogger. I thought I wanted to move away from blogging about my personal life, but I’ve realized that I enjoy writing about my family and that many of the activities I/we do model intrinsic learning. As a means to provide more content in between the videos I’m working on, I’m planning to revise some posts I’ve written there and share them here as well.
Seven Things About Me
1.) I am an urban backyard beekeeper. Yeah, I’m one of those dorks who wears a white zip-up suit, a veil; but my black kick-ass boots set me apart from others because I tower in them like an Amazonian woman.
2.) I’ve homeschooled all three of our kids (now, just our daughter). It’s the longest held and most rewarding job I’ve had.
3.) I’ve been raising chickens for eggs 22 years. I’ve been raising chickens and turkeys for meat for four years. (It never gets easier for us to kill them.)
4.) We have an urban farm where we grow veggies and fruits and eat at least one of our homegrown foods in most meals.
6.) I use to rehabilitate mallard ducks and release them into the wild. (They don’t mind shitting where they swim.)
7) I adore traveling abroad and we have mostly visited third-world countries. (I dislike repeat visits because there are so many new places I want to see!)
6.) I was a year-round competitive swimmer for 6.5 years. (I love to exaggerate as much as exercise.)
7.) I’m fulfilling my goal of making documentaries. Have you seen this current one I made on my iPhone5? (If you like it, please share it;->)
